How to stop ear licking

I've been battling an ear infection in 1 of my bullies for a while. She is currently getting drops 2x a day. I've come to find out the other bullie is licking her ear every night/early morning. She wakes up with a soaking ear most mornings. How can I get this to stop with out separating them?? Could this be the cause of the recurrent infections??

It sure won't help

moisture getting in there can cause yeast/bacteria to grow.  WIthout suggesting ear muffs I would have to say you need to keep them separated or a constant eye on them.  LOL

LOL!!!! Sorry - couldn't help

LOL!!!! Sorry - couldn't help laughing uncontrollably at the thought of a bully in ear muffs....too funny!!!

Wish I had the solution for you.

When Kofi had an ear infection, Elaine suggested Zymox Enzymatic Solution, the hydrocortisone free. I cleared it up in a jif.

Keep us informed, hope the situation gets better soon.

what about bitter apple?

the spray you can put on furniture and stuff you don't want dogs chewing on? Maybe if you rubbed a bit of that on her ear the other dog would leave it alone?

Bitter yuck Thank you

I do have some bitter yuck that is very very old. What a great idea!! I will try it tonight.

I tried the zymox for over a month and it helped but came right back. Now I know it was because we have an ear licker.......
