hot spots
Submitted by karonelaine on June 17, 2010 - 8:16pmtoday while me and loulou was wathching t.v. she was laying on top of me sleeping. when I woke her up. I notice a
small lumps all over her under her arms they are red. i gave her benadryl. I don't understand. what this could be. she lives in 73 dregee house. I did have to treat her for fleas 6 days ago. her food is the same. I have my son american bulldog bubba and my yorkie shiloh none of them has this. what can I do. if it don"t look better in the morning she will have to go to the vet. has this happen to anyone else and what did you do?

Maybe she's allergic to the flea product...
my guy broke out in hives for weeks after Frontline. Benedryl will help if he's itchy.

went to the vet today . He said it is Hives. he said it was hard to tell if it was the flea meds. but he put on prednisolone 20 mg for 2 days the then we stared to reduce the meds and he up the benedryl to 3 times a day. they have went down since I went to work this morning. i did started the benedryl last night as soon as she broke out. the hives really look like hot spots , they had stared to open but this afternoon when I got home they had already started to scab up. only thing that is diffrent was the flea meds. but fish oil and glaric pills were not working for her i had to give her something. I do belivie in my heart you hit it right on the nail.thanks againg.

Glad to hear she's doing better...
the benedryl was certainly the right thing to do, and i'm sure the Pred will finish the job.
