Hot Spot

I've noticed over the past couple of weeks that Joker has had a couple of Hot Spots on his back side...  I've applied Sulfodene® Skin Medication and it's dried it up and the skin has turned black.... I've given him two baths in Chlorheixiderm..   What else would I need to do to help with this issue?  Is that Black Skin normal?  I'll try and get some pictures when my daughters gets home....

Hot spots

Maybe what he had weren't hot spots, or maybe his skin is reacting to the medication.   I've never seen black skin from a hot spot. For hot spots, I clean with Listerine, dry thoroughly and apply Gold Bond powder--the sooner the better.

I use apple cider vinegar.....

and depending on the severity of the hot spot may place some triple anitibotic oitment or dust with baby powder.

Sounds like a bacterial infection

If so he needs medication.  Sorry, but it sounds just like what Onslow gets.  Does it scab after it turns black?
