Hi all, I am brand new to the bully world and am bringing my little guy home in a few weeks. I have been researching food like mad and have only managed to confuse myself. I have just started looking into Horizons new line, Pulsar, and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on its composition or is trying it? It's at a median price point between the $80 bags here (Canada) and the $40 Costco food. I've been reading all of the food posts here I could see, but just wondering about this new line in particular. Thanks!

I don't know about this food but...
we feed the Costco grain free salmon/sweet potato and have had really good results with it.
First I would not
switch the puppy to a different food right away. Use what the breeder is feeding and gradually switch in a month or so. Let the puppy get settled at it's new home first. There is enough changes going on an vet visits and shots, that changing food can wait.
This food has Chicken Meal as it's first ingredient (this can be rendered meat) cooked and ground into meal, taking out the liquid. I personally would not want to feed rendered meat. From Wikipedia ~ Because meat can be rid of infectious agents through the rendering process, “4D” animals (dead, dying, diseased or disabled) are allowable chicken meal ingredients. Yuck :(.
I fed "Now" made by PetCurean (Canadian Co) with great success when I was feeding kibble. They do not use rendered meats. Maybe you might want to check this food out as well.
I feed RAW now.
Congrats on the new puppy!
Thanks!
I am definately going to wait to switch his food, I can get it but the closest place is 2.5 hrs away so I planned on getting a few bags of what he's on now and eventually going to something I can get in town. I was also looking at the Now as well as Go lines of food and really liked them, I just haven't heard a lot about Pulsar, but keep seeing it. Thanks for your thoughts!
