He's on day two of not pooping!

Hey guys!

Our guy hasn't pooped in a day. All day yesterday and nothing as of 11am today. He's been out numerous times too. It is pretty hot here, so maybe he is just not wanting to? What should we do? How long until we may need to go to the vet? Should we try some pumpkin? He seems fine, although we woke up last night to the sound of him "coughing" ABOUT 10 times. Not sure what that was, he just went back to sleep and didn't get up.

Worried mom over here!

Any Vomitting?

Have you taken a temp?

Is he eating normally? Any signs of tummy discomfort? If No, then he is most likely constipated. Have you changed foods recently or given him something he normally doesn't get?

If he is vomitting then he needs to go to the vet asap.

Have you taken him on a walk? If it's hot do it late at night after it cools off.

No vomiting and drinking water...

No we haven't done his temperature. He doesn't appear to have any discomfort. I can't think of him getting anything unusual in type of food. Not much different. I took him out at 7:30 and he didn't want to go, then my husband took him for a walk in the shade in his usual places and still nothing...

Well pumpkin

can't hurt anything. I sure would give it a try. Maybe if you do a search, you'll find some good suggestions.

Hope your guy gets better quickly.

what is the main concern.....

my guys are on raw and some times they dont poop for two days.....did he eat some thing and your worried about a blockage?? does he have gas? i would give him a tums....1 evry hr till he has has had 4..... in total....

is he eating?  maybe  a little yogurt added to his food.....dogs dont not poop becasue its hot.....dogs can hold their urine for hours they cannot hold their poop for long....if their is a bowel to pass.....has he eaten his normale ration to have a normale poop...or has he eaten less and thus he does not need to poop as normale???

as long as your secure he has not eaten anything to casue a blockage i would not worry,,,,,but if he could of eaten a toy or a rock dont wait any longer than 48 hrs.....

He Pooped!!!!!

He finally pooped last night around 7pm. We gave him some pumpkin in the day. He must of been constipated or something, cause he's usually pretty regular, but whenever he doesn't poop, I automatically get worried!

Thx for all the suggestions!

Pumpkin works wonders

Glad to here you had success and that you both are feeling better.  It's so hard and stress full when they are not feeling well.
