help Rolo has bad acne. (i think)

my wife is taking him to the vet right now but i was trying to see if anybody on here could help me out.

he eats and drinks out of stainless steal bowls. we wash them once a week.

i think it might be from the beef tendons we give him or the bones with the marrow still in them.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thats more than Acne (my humble opinion)

Does he have a favorite toy that he pushes around?    We have a basketball that Gizmo LOVES... it has little bumps on it, for a player to 'grip'  they tear her chin up...but she doesnt car...just give her the basketball.

Definately looks rubbed raw :( good luck, and please post a followup  so we know what the vet said ! :)

Update after vet visit

(this is what my wife told me when she called.)

Vet said its normal for his age(7months) to have acne but it shluldnt be this bad. gave him a shot just in case of infection. gave him a pills to take and a spray to put on his chin. said to wipe his face everytime he drinks out of his bowl and to put his food on a cake pan so he doesnt rub his face on the food. vet said it should clear up in a week.

Definately keep us updated (with pictures :)

I hope he feels better too! maybe ease off of the bullysticks?

My bullie gets something

My bullie gets something similar to this during the winter and it took me a while to figure out what causes it.  She LOVES to eat snow and ice and due to the glorious underbite, her chin often rubs against the frozen snow/ice and scrapes her chin.  I try to make sure that I make her snow balls to eat so that she doesn't have to scrape but if she does I keep it clean and head to the vet if it starts to look infected but luckily that doesn't happen often.  Not sure if you live in a snow filled area but it took me a whole winter of "investigation" to figure out it wasn't toys/food/bowls/etc causing the problem!  Hope your pup heals quickly :)

Just a thought

My bully eats out of a clean bowl each meal. Water bowl is cleaned three times a day and water is changed. He is rather slobbery when eating/drinking. .Bowls are stainless steel.

He always has a rather red chin but outgrew the yucky zits, He is 7 now, but  also required antibiotics once as a teenager for acne
