Usually they appear between the toes but, I had a girl once that got them on top. There are many methods of tx. Soaking in Epsom salts, Vinegar Massengil Douche, Hemorrhoid Cream. Brings it to a head, it pops, little bit of blood oozes out then it starts to heal. Good Luck!
Last summer, Beatrix got a tiny cut on her forehad that, by the next day, had swollen up like that. We drained it, and when we did, a tiny splinter came out with the liquid. We cleaned her up, and it healed just fine. So maybe it's just some kind of splinter or thorn that got stuck in the skin? Hopefully it's that simple.

Our vet thinks most of these skin issues on the feet are caused by ingrown hairs, and I've actually watched him clean out the hairs from a stubborn IDC.

I also believe it was caused by an ingrown hair since it is starting to resurface... Hair has proven to be a real pain for Trudy and I as of lately between the excessive shedding in addition to having to clean/remove the jammed hair out of her gums and the roof of her mouth... Yuck! Thanks

Agree with Mike--looks like IDC. Have a boy who gets the IDC's and occasionally gets one out of place like this. Good luck!
