Help pimples or sores ? ?

Hello I have a 3 year old bulldog with these pimples are sores on his chin. He gets them sometimes and they open and bleed alot when he rubs his chin on something. They last for a while to go away. Im not to sure why hes getting them from time to time ? Could it be human food treats we give him from time to time ? Beisdes that he only eats his food and hes fine.

Im totaly lost why hes getting these any one ever have this happen ?

Some people use Strident medicated acne pads...

We finally took Ollie to the vet and they gave him an antibiotic that cleared it right up.

So it is pimples then ? ? ?

So it is pimples then ? ? ?

Thanks alot =]

These pimples...

....are very common and annoying.  Treating as above with stridex (peroxide, listerine, diaper rash cream) is usually effective.  Trying to  keep the chin dry can help....wipe whenever you can after you see him drinking.   A vet visit would be eeded if all else fails and they get out of control.  Good luck!

food and water bowls

it may be a stupid question but are his bowls metal or glass...if not they should be....I treat with acne or triple anti-bac. cream.

Pustules

Since I've had Bentley for 6 months - he's been in twice for this.  Vet said they are pustules, like very painful zits for humans.  I've read to avoid squeezing them but my vet insists you squeeze them, clean them very well, put hydrogen peroxide and panalog ointment.  Bentley required a course of antibotics for 3 weeks.

I had stainless steel bowls, that's what everyone kept asking.  Also, take away rubber toys and be sure to keep mouth dry - especially after eating or drinking.  I have to clean Bentley's face twice a day with the same scrub the vets use, or I'll use his pyoben shampoo.  It's a pain but I'll do anything to keep those things from coming back.

The first time they were really out of control and the vet shaved his chin, put him under minor anesthesia because there were so many and popped/cleaned them all.  When I picked him up two hours later, it was like nothing was ever there....odd.  BUT expensive...about $350.00

BEST OF LUCK!  P.S. they contribute everything to food and short of the raw diet, I've tried all really good foods.
