Help! Do you have experience in MRSA and Chloramphenicol?

Does anybody have any experience with this drug: Chloramphenicol? Culture test showed that the bacteria was killed by this drug but it might lower Bernard's blood count (anemia.) Is there anything I can give to him to make sure this does not happen when he takes the drug? I appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Bernard was diagnosed with MRSA the other day. Here is my original post in the General forum:

Currently, he is pinkish bit he doesn't have any yeast, lesions, wounds or swelling going on. There are 3 to 4 spots (size is smaller than a penny) that do not have fur but it is not red.

Thanks. We started Bernard on the meds. I posted an update on the General Forum. Between several forums and FB, yes, it can be confusing. But thank goodness for all these forums, if not, I will really be a total wreck byt this time with Bernard's diagnosis. I love the internet!
