help coughing and gagging

ok I have two 7 month old frenchies. My daughter has one and I have the other. I babysit everyday. two days ago, Ziggy the one that lives with my daughter started gaggin alot. Mostly when he is laying down. Still eating, drinking, playing, no fever. Now Bogart the other frenchie is doing it. Any ideas on what it could be.? Help.

could be a few things

from allergies to palette issues.  Keep your eye on them and mention it to vet.

Possibly kennel cough?

Have they been in public places lately or do they get walked outside?  I volunteer at a shelter and we have lots of kennel cough there, coughing and gagging is what they do till the meds take effect.

Not really

Bogart has just been in our yard. Ziggy has been outside his apartment to go pee.

It's possible Ziggy picked it up outside the apt...

if a dog that has it was in the area at some point.  Whatever it is, it seems contagious.  If it is kennel cough, it will just run it's course.  If it get worse, I would see the vet and have them checked.

they have

a vet appt in the morning. Ziggy is better today but Bogart is coughing and gagging white foam up. He has a nostril that is smaller too so I think its hitting him harder.

Agree w/ Kathy

Kennel cough can sound like gagging.  It is highly contagious so it could easily be picked up at an apartment complex and passed on.

They should be kept away from outher dogs and I would consult your vet.

darn it

They have already been around three other dogs. One has the bordatella vaccine and the other two do not...

That is going to be Kennel Cough.

I would make sure they get on meds to stop it before it gets any worse. Best wishes...
