heartworms...

Please, please any info would be so helpful! We recently adopted a bully from a friend of a friend. Took him to the vet for shots and checkup to find out he has stage 2 heartworms! He is starting treatment on the 25th. They have started him on steroids and antibiotic till then. I am so worried about keeping him calm while going through this. I have 3 you girls 4,5 & 8 that love to play with him. Is he gonna be healthy after all this is over?? Is there any thing I can do at home to help make it easier for him?

myself but I know from reading up on a lot of the rescue bullies here, that it can be treated and he should be fine! The earlier it gets caught and treated the better. Hopefully someone here with direct experience will be able to respond with some advice. Best of luck.
