Heartworm preventative causing upset stomach?

Every month after we give Cooper his heartworm preventative the very next morning , he throws up.  It is like clockwork.  He is a year and a half old , and there has not been 1 month that he has not thrown up the following day after having it.  He is on interceptor  and my vet said we could try switching to heartguard but it does not protect as much as interceptor.  She thought we should give him a pepcid after we give him it to see if that helps.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Not sure how much pepcid to give either?

Yes, REx gets sick too..

It happened twice when I gave him the interceptor. This was about 6 years ago. I decided to give it to him at night around 9:00pm. He gets his dinner at 4:00pm so i figured most of the food has 'settled' in. This seems to work. The next morning he is fine and eats around 7 or 8 depending when he decides to get up. I had been giving him the heartworm pill almost right after he had a meal and I think that is why he threw up. good luck :-)
