Head shaking

I came home Saturday to find Spike shaking his head from side to side (not to sound ugly, but to describe it looked like the motion a bobble head does).  He looked terrified to me, once we fed him he was ok and hasn't done it since.  Any ideas what it may have been?  I don't have the heart to lose another bully this year, since we lost Boo in February.

I don't think that it's anything

to worry about. If you do a search, you'll find many who tell their experiences with head shaking. I understand how such things worry us. Kofi did it once, and it's just so strange to see. Still, it seems to be a bully thing.

Hugs.

Thank you for all the information

Ear infection?

I have seen dogs do all kinks of strange head movements with ear infections or ear mites.

or low blood sugar

That fact that this strange head movement stopped after he ate gives me the idea that he may have been experiencing a dip in his blood sugar level.

ear mites

agree with ear mites. Baxter was infected last year. Simple ear drops from vet took care of it.
