Had to change vet appt due to HEAT....(just a little vent...ugh!)

Vet appt. today at 2 pm to get Sophie's one year vaccinations, plus, claw clippings for her and Meaty....
The night before, I realize I must've been on CRACK to make an appointment at that time of day!!!! The car is going to
be a GAZILLION degrees when we get back in....I realized they will be all HOPPED UP from the angst of being
at the vet's office, not to mention, allllllllllll the doggies they are going to play with/ sniff/ etc. while we're there!!.....
....
Changed appt to 9:45 am on Monday......ugh, I was NOT gonna take them in 100 degree heat..........all I can say is, it
BETTER not be more than 80 when we go at 9:30 am.......!! Sheesh, this weekend, it's going to get up to 105----we
will let them tinkle and poo for maybe five minutes, then that is IT !!!

I *HATE* to be a whiner.......I really do.....but hubby and I are already DONE with summer!!! We can. NOT. WAIT. until
September (or will it be October?) when we can take them to all the parks and let them play in the yard again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ..
....
P.S....we feel so bad for them for being INSIDE so much, we take them to PetSmart about every other weekend.....they
have soooo much fun, and it does our hearts good to see them interacting w/ loving people and other animels! We have
a whole system we worked out last summer....we pull up to the grass so they don't have to walk on the pavement....
once we're ready to leave, hubbs goes outside and BLASTS the A/C for a few minutes while Meaty, Sophie and I
wait in the store.......THEN I quickly walk them to the car that's nice and cold......I feel sorry for people who don't
have someone to help them do these things with their pets!!!!! :-(

I agree - this heat STINKS!
I have been feeling soooo bad for Gracie. yesterday it was almost 100 degrees in Boston and so humid. I literally took her out to do her business and that's it. She sits by the back slider and looks outside. She absolutely LOVES being outside in the sun but its just too dangerous. So I decided to go for a walk (short walk) last night around 7:30 pm. the sun went down so it was a little more bearable. I usually take her for her daily walks....I grab my ipod and put my sneakers on and then we go for our walk. So last night I grabbed my ipod and put my sneakers and she came running to the door, all excited thinking she was going for a walk. It broke my heart!! they said on the news that this is the last day of bad heat around here.....I hope so!!!

I told my vet that if they want Sophie to overheat...
I will bring her on in for a heartworm test just to be re-prescribed heartguard. She has been on it steadily for ever, NOW they want to re-test her. I told them to take a leap. They gave me the meds:-)
