Hi everyone, a few of you asked for me to post after Gemma made the long trip from Shanghia China to Cleveland, OHio. The whole thing was pretty uneventful..she was on the plane with us from Shanghai to Newark. The flight attendant was nice enough to check to make sure she made it on the plane and also told me the pilot was aware so he had the climate controlled area ready for her. Upon arrival in Newark (15 hours) she was taken to the pet hotel for Contentinal. She needed several hours to clear customs but we were able to check on her. They had already walked her, given her a short bath and had her bedding in the washer. The place was really clean and the staff said how friendly she was and that they had taken her out to play and get some energy out. She had to stay overnight in Newark while we went ahead to Cleveland. The next morning a pet relocation company delivered her to our home in great condition. I think she did have a small bladder issue from trying to hold as much as she could but it was better in a couple of days.
Much better than expected! She seems to be doing wonderful here in America. Fewer tail pocket issues and food issues. I've had her on California Natural food (low fat) and her itching is minimal.
Thanks everyone for your positive thoughts! :)
