Gunther is three, and I used to laugh when I always read that bullies have bad gas because Gunther never has. Well it is happening now, the last few months. Now it could be his food. We changed him from raw to kibble, but it didn't happen right away as you would think it should.
Any tips on what to do to stop the smelly gas or to make it not smell so bad? Does it make him uncomfortable?
Thank you!

a dollup of fat free plain yogurt
should help! Just a scoop in his meal. PU! LOL
Oh it has to have active cultures
probiotics accomplishes the same result too.
Great idea
Thanks, we will definately try that! PU is right!

hmm!
In our case, Matilda eats raw and has no gas. Or, if she does, I don't notice it. I do feed her yogurt because she likes it. This is going to sound so crazy but I like that she goes these little non-smelly cat-sized poops twice a day like clockwork.
Charlie, the foster bulldog, is eating kibble (Taste of the Wild - the seafood one now) and a probiotic supplement (Kefir, cultured goats milk) and he has gas that would make you want to move out of the country. I am told that they make special dog biscuits with a bit of activated charcoal in them that helps soak up extra gas for whatever reason, but I've never seen them anywhere. A breeder's book I was reading once (written in the UK) said they were called "Charcoal Bonios" or something.
When Matilda used to eat kibble she had terrible fumes on everything BUT Royal Canin. Royal Canin wasn't the best food in the world, but there was something in it that discouraged it...I am not sure what it could be.
I also hear that you can help minimize gas by feeding the dog via a slow-feed bowl or raising the height of the food off the floor so they don't swallow as much air.
Just a thought.
