Food Question

Does anybody out there feed their bully Acana Wild Prairie? I noticed the protein was 33 percent. Is this too high? I am feeding My Perfect Pet, but Sally is very under weight (1 yr old and barely 30 lbs.) and I don't think she's gaining weight from it. Anybody else feed My Perfect Pet? It has been 1 yr of trying to figure out the "right" food. Any suggestions would be helpful.

high protein food

this is just my dog, but when I started a high protein diet for the mister, he happened to have bloodwork shortly after for heartworm test. The test showed high BUN and Creatinine in his blood, related to kidneys and potential for kidney disease. I was happy it got caught and a change in diet (low protein) reversed it and kidney values were normal again. He will remain on a low protein diet for good now.

All dogs are not the same though, and some do well on a higher protein. Sorry if this is confusing you, just my experience.

So what do you feed?

And what percentage of protein is considered "high"? Just wondering.

Check out some of the grain free fish based foods...

we feed Taste of the Wild pacific stream which is salmon and sweet potato and it's around 25% protein which is perfect for a bulldog.

I have started TOTW Pacific Stream

Slowly this week. We'll see how it goes!

Good choice.....

It is pretty popular on this forum. I've been feeding it to 2 females for about 3 years now and have not had a problem at all. Good luck
