Fly biting after surgery???

Recently I rescued a 1.5 year old English bulldog that has had an issue with cherry eye. Following the advice of our local Vet, we decided to have the third eye lid removed after tacking attempts failed twice.
After Zoe came home from this procedure, we started noticing episodes of “fly biting” (peculiar episodes where the dog appears to be snapping at imaginary flies) when she would lie down for the night. Is this a common side effect of Anesthesia? She was doing this every night before bed. Now, a few weeks after the procedure, it doesn’t seem to happen as much if at all.
I guess what I’m trying to find out is if this is a temporary side effect of the Anesthesia, or should I expect the “fly biting” to reoccur from time to time?
Any advice or similar experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I have found fly biting to be itch or pain related.

It could be her eye, while it healed, was itchy....I know when I get a wound it itches when it is healing. This could be what was going on. Not sure about it being anesthesia related, maybe someone else here has info on that for you.

Glad it seems to have gone away...
