Fluid Filled bump(seroma)

UGH I am forever dealing with Knee issues.. after two TPLO surgeries on Lola, one of her plates being removed due to infections and now for the past 3 weeks a bump has slowly developed and has grown bigger.. took her to the vet and the first surgeron who did her first knee says its a seroma.. I am well aware of those as she had one after her plate was removed.. but for it to come on 16 months later?  It grows when shes active but I can massage it down.. its going to burst in a matter of time I know it.. man the first surgeon local person I love but man he really did a number on her leg.. the second leg is a work of art.. no major scars, plate still in tact and no seroma.. any tips on how to really manage these?  Vet said to massage the bump in hopes to push the fluid out and let scar tissue develop.. the seroma is right where the lump was that he cleaned up when her plate was infected..  he mentioned opening up the lump cleaning up the area and re-stitching it but I will never let him cut her open again. I really like the guy but I think he is just past his prime..

TPLO

That is one of the potential problems with TPLO.  It can have more complications, at least that was a concern with the surgeon that did Norbert's surgery and with the shortness of bulldogs legs it makes the plate fitting much more complicated.  Anytime you are cutting and screwing into bone the potential of problems is there.   Hopefully it will eventually subside.  Is she real active?  Poor girl :(

I have heard that you can

I have heard that you can apply heat several times per day to the seroma site to try and bring it down.  Can they aspirate it?  Can you have her looked at by another ortho specialist?  So sorry you are dealing with this.
