anal gland on the left side.  I didn't know whether I should try to express myself or to take him in.  Our breeder said to take him in right away so we did.  Then we found out he had to go in for surgery due to it being an anal abscess that needed to be lacerated.  I'm still not sure how he got it but the vet said since he hadn't been eating it was best to do the surgery and not wait for the abscess to take care of itself.  He stayed overnight and is now back home with mama and dad. 

It was so unexpected and I hated having to leave him at the vet like that.  It's not like I could explain to him what was going on and why we had to, but still... The first thing he did when he got home was drink loads of water then feel asleep for hours.  I don't think he slept the whole time he was there.  When he woke up he ate all of his food (his poor tummy was growling).  And now he won't leave my side.  But he is doing better.  We're giving him extra lovies and kissies to make him feel better :)
