Hello BDW. My wife and I are fairly new to the Bulldog world. We have a male and two females. We decided to start breeding a few months ago. We had our first litter 10 days ago. 7 girls and 1 boy. One of the puppies didn't make it home but the others seemed to be doing good. Now all of the sudden we've lost two in the last two days. They just stop eating and die. We are trying to do everything right. My wife doesn't work so she has been living with these puppies. We're keeping the temp right, feeding on a schedule, and keeping them clean. we've read alot of books but I know experience is the key. My wife is really beating herself up over it. 2 Vets have told me "welcome to Bulldogs". Any tips, pointers, or just words of encouragement would help. Thanks

Beef Liver water....
Get some beef liver and boil it....give some of the water to the puppies....don't know if there is a dosage or not, but will try to find out....just use dropper and give them some. Good luck, and I'll get back with any more information I find!
Also, be careful not to keep the puppies too warm....this time of year, and depending on their sizes, they might not need heating pad--all that business about keeping temps in the 90's for newborns was never true for any of my puppies.
Also,
....get a hold of your breeder(s)--perhaps they've experienced this and can help!
Recipe/dosage:
BEEF LIVER REMEDY FOR FADING PUPPIES
This is an old remedy, but seems to work wonders.
Take a large piece of beef liver, add a little bit of water,
and boil slowly, about 5 minutes, until the blood comes out. Let cool,
drain the liquid and put just 4 drops (no matter the breed) into a
dropper and give to puppy.
At first you give it every 2 hours for 12 hours, then every 4 hours.
Continue until you feel the puppy is thriving.
Don't use any of the liver itself, it's way too rich, just the liquid.
Testimonials:
* I did this for 2 days and the turnaround was miraculous. This was the smallest puppy, just 4
ounces, out of a litter of 7. He was doing fine for 3 days, then he began to fade. After only the
second dose, he came around, but I continued for 2 days. I wouldn't have another litter
without a piece of beef liver in the freezer.
(small breed)
* It works miracles and after I tried it several others have.
(medium sized breed)
* I had 2 fading puppies and gave 4 drops every hour for 12 hours and then went to every 2
hours, then to 4 hours. Both puppies recovered.
(large breed)
Good luck!
There is soooooo much that can happen.....
I have been doing this for 13 year and still don't know everything....with out a network of people to help me I could have never done it. I have oxegen, sub q fluids, ect. I spent a few hundred dollars just for all the thing I need for the new litter. Most time I don't need it but it can save a puppy if you run into trouble. Good luck
