external anal gland expression???? How????

Just wondering, how do you express a dogs anal glands externally. We've only seen our vet do it internally. Tucker's scootin as i type!

I have the confidence to try this on our sweet Sophie......having taken her to the vet twice for this, she gets sooo scared,

hubby and I are gonna start doing it at home...

LOVE it at the end, when the vet says "It's Christmas Eve, did you like the present of having your anal glands expressed?" :-)

Gee, what would we do without YouTube?? I'll try this out next time we have an issue(well the xternal method). I think someone suggested putting warm on his bum before so i'll try that first.

he didn't get anything expressed using the external method. I have never just messaged, at some point you have to press firmly . I try to go from the bottom of the gland and press upward and inward toward the anus. A little hard to try to explain. Besure to do it way from your face.... :O)
