Excessive scratching

Baxter has been scratching excessively for the past several weeks. Changing his food from  IAM's proplan Puppy to Taste of the Wild Bufffalo and Venison hasn't seen to help. His has a medicated batch which seems to help but only for a few hours. Can anyone advise of a change of food brand that may help?

Give him benedryl to help in the meantime

so he doesn't scratch himself raw.  1 mg per lb.  It might make  him sleepy

also

is he scratching his ears? belly? what is he scratching?  is he licking too?  It may not be the food, it could be a contact allergy.  His bedding, new toy? New soap?  New floor cleaner?  Dust :{

Hmmm..

He only scratches when he is awake. LOL.  He is a typical bulldog, he does like his nap time. I will try to change the laundry soap. Thanks again.

Personally, I wouldn't start

Personally, I wouldn't start changing things. More than likely it is not the food, nor the detergent. Where do you live? I'd start by looking at the ears and making sure they are clean. Could possibly be just a case of dry skin due to the weather.
