Epilepsy, blood clots

Our 10 month old was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. This was determined from a few seizures that she had over the course of a few days (maybe more that we just didn't know about) I'm still not 100% convinced that it is epilepsy and not something else. Until she shows more signs of anything being wrong we are controlling the seizures with meds.

About 1.5 months ago she was spayed. Has anyone ever heard of a bulldog getting a blood clot? I still wonder if the seizure may have been caused from a blood clot breaking loose or something. It was suggested to me that we give her 35 mg of asprin to thin the blood in case this really did happen. Opinions on this? Also, when the vet did blood work her immune system was really weak so we will start another round of vaccinations as soon as we make sure she isn't having anymore seizures.

What a high maintenance puppy!!!

Thanks in advance.

I would hold off on any more vaccinations

I am not sure about the aspirin. You can ask your vet if this will interfere with the other medication he is on. As for any more vacs, I would hold off indefinitley. This may very well be the cause of the seizures.  Has he had all his puppy shots and boosters yet? I have not vaccinatied my dog since his boosters at 1. 5 years old. He had a terrible reaction. My stupid vet gave him all vacs at once. He is now 11.5 years old and has never gotton parvo, distemper or rabies. Wishing you and your bully the best!

She hasn't had any

She hasn't had any vaccinations for a long time...probably since last September. I really thought not giving her the 3rd round may have caused some issues. I'm go the ball now, trying to do everything right! Thanks.

Build her immune system before you do ANY more shots.

Start that baby on 500mg vitamin C daily. You can give her one in her breakfast or one in her dinner, or break it up into two meals, but get her immune system strong before you give any more vaccines.

I read above about food, too.

Adding the Vitamin C would be good to do with yogurt in the food as well.
