If you suspect an infection it is always wise to have it checked out. My first bully Arthur (RIP mom`s boy) had very hot ears and it was a fever, not related to his ears at all but something else. Best of luck.
Your vet will prescribe either ottomax or momentamax for the ears, these will help bring down the redness and clear up the infection in a bout 3-4 days.

Ear Infections....
require a vet's care. It if is just allergies, then I would say a Benadryl but any infection needs an antibiotic and maybe ear meds.

Zymox is great
over the counter ear product for yeast. I always have it on hand.
But I do agree with the others, vet visit first incase it is an infection that requires antibiotics.
