as a result of long term predisone use. He also developed calcinosis cutis which is a complication of Cushings. Really awful. Do you have specific questions? Might be able to offer some of the treatment options we were given.

exam yesterday...her blood work came back with some questions going on with her liver...my vet is very knowledgeable with bulldogs i trust her...i wanted to kno about the symptoms...Sugar is always acting like she can't get enough to eat...she drinks allot of water...(not like what the vet said never getting enough) but she is panting allot too...otherwise she eats, sleeps and poos with no problem...she also mentioned it might be pancratis, but again she is not having the symptons other than what i mentioned...i will keep an eye on her...but she will be 11 next month....she was on predinsone when we adopted her...so i am not sure about the rest of her medical history.... any in put you have with the symptons etc will be helpful~~ thanks Lonna

typical of a "normal" bulldog so not easily recognizable. Lethargy, panting, bloated belly area, seeming to be always hungry, etc. Our Rocky was never a over energetic fellow so we attributed him being more lethargic to his age. Another symptem we were told was resting their head upon something as if it is too heavy for them to hold up. Rocky did this, often resting his head on a chair rail, but again we attributed that to him being a bulldog with a pretty large head to hold up :) So for us with him the only real obvious symptom was the calcinosis. I think that Cushing's often occurs naturally as a result of a tumor but also can be a nasty side effect of over use of steriod meds. Unfortunately, especially in a older dog I don't think there are really any good treatment options :(

Yes, we do. Our first bulldog Rocky developed Cushings
as a result of long term predisone use. He also developed calcinosis cutis which is a complication of Cushings. Really awful. Do you have specific questions? Might be able to offer some of the treatment options we were given.
