Diarrhea/bloody stool

Hey, guys. So, Beatrix has had diarrhea for a few days now. We had her on chicken and rice for a day, and she firmed right up, but now it's all icky again.  And just now, when I took her out, there was bright red blood in it. :( She's also been urinating more frequently than normal, getting up in the middle of the night needing to go outside and such.

How worried should I be? Should I be calling in sick tomorrow to take her to the vet?

Poor Beatrix

If it was me I would start by dropping off a urine and a stool sample for them to check before you take the day off to bring her in.  Might just be a gastro upset but good to have them check, hope she feels better soon.

Out of curiosity...how do you

Out of curiosity...how do you GET a urine sample? Stool I understand -- it's a solid (or, well, a partly solid in this case). But how do you sample a liquid that gets absorbed by the ground?

The best way I have read about

is to use a ladle.  ;)

go to your vet.....

they will give you a little (for lack of a better word) plastic disposable tray. I had to do this numerous times a few years back. I followed my girl around he yard and when she started to squat........I slid the tray under her!

Clean plastic

low container...like lid that has 1/2 inch high lip and when she squats to pee you side it under her.  They don't need a lot to test.  :)
