Diarrhea concerns
Submitted by averaste on October 2, 2010 - 11:13pmBumper has has diarrhea for 2.5 days now he goes out and strains then just liquid comes out he moves to another spot and tries only to have more liquid come out he is going at least 15 times a day. I called the vet they did not seem concerned since he is not vomiting. he is drinking ok i cooked him rice and chicken he wanted no part of it. he is acting ok nothing unusual. I cant think of anything he ate to upset his stomach. he has been on ketoconazole for 4.5 weeks for a ear problem. I asked the vet if it could be the pills and was told no. what should i look for and at what point would you take him in. he strains so hard he makes him self bleed nd he is so raw from me cleaning his bottom. He also had 2 accidents in the house in the last 2 days and he has never done that before.
Poor Bumper, I would say
that a vet visit is in order.
I am not familiar with his meds, but when I have taken antibiotics, some mess with my stomach.
He just sounds to miserable.
Have you added pumpkin (plain from the can) to his food?
I'm sorry that I have little knowledge of such issues, except that I can't stand to think of our babies suffering. I know it must be hard on you too.
Hope his issue is resolved soon.

Thanks i am waiting to see how he feels this morning he actually seems to of had a better nite he woke up once at 5am went out and its now almost 10am and he is still asleep. friday nite he was needing to go outside every hour. I am giving him pumpkin he actually loves it so i pray its doing the trick.
diarrhea is listed as a side effect
of that drug. I would talk to your vet again, tell him that you are very concerned about it, since he's going so frequently. Poor baby!
Pumpkin really worked for Audrey when she had diarrhea recently.
