Went back to our vets today and the diagnosis of cardio myopathy was confirmed for our almost 11 year old Chloe. Needless to say we were very upset. The thought of no longer having her around is devastating. She came home with three meds- Lasix, Vetmedin and Fortekor. As he said, Don't give up on her yet as lots of dogs do well on these meds and can live for quite some time." I guess the fear of the unknown is the greatest fear. Not a good day for my husband, myself and obviously Chloe.
I am very sorry to hear that
Enjoy every minute you can with her. It has always broken my heart to know that our best friends do not have the same life span as us. My sympathies and best wishes.

DON'T give up yet!!!! That's exactly what my boxer has =
He has lived 6 years since being diagnosed & will be 11 in september!!!! He's healthy as hell, seems like a dog that is 6 years old!
Thank you
for your words of encouragement. Knowing that dogs can and do do well with meds is really helpful and hopefully that will be Choe's case too.
11 years old takes every day
as a blessing from God that she has been with you this long i can only hope my wilson stays with me that long.....have as much fun as you can...so ALL the naughty things...ice cream chocolate cookies...have a blast and fill those memories with the best not the saddest

That is the best advice you could possibly give!
Carol,
I hate that diagnosis, but still while you have your darling with you.....celebrate each day!
What a special life she must have experienced with such special two-leggers!
Has she brought you joy? How wonderful is that?
Joy beyond compare.
Chloe is my third bully and while each was special she by far the best bulldog we have ever had or seen. Sorry I am a bit biased LOL.
we are rooting for you both...
...i know A LOT of dogs(and people) on heart meds, and they are active, happy and healthy. keep the faith!
