Desi got stung in the face yesterday
Submitted by fouquieria on August 12, 2010 - 5:09pmShe's OK now. I kind of panicked when I saw how much the swelling was. It was on the right side of her face. It must have happened yesterday morning.
Anyway, I took her to the vet and he gave her two shots and kept her for a couple of hours. When I picked her up, two-thirds of the swelling had already subsided. Today she looks and acts almost normal.

I keep benadryl on hand for "just in case". Glad she is feeling better now.

you were smart to go to the vet.....it does not take long to close off the wind pipe...keep some liquid benadrly it works faster than the pills..so if you see that kind of swelling give two 25mg right away only wait 30 min no improvements get to the vet....i almost lost my wilson i now carry a epi pen...this is a prescription from the vet...use in emergency only....he has a hypolatic treachea so his air way can be cut off very quickly.....he is allergic to spider and bee....both of which he will chase and try to eat!!!!!!
