Cysts
Submitted by Fatboy on May 27, 2012 - 11:21pmI found a lump on Fatboy's back. It's located on the ride side, about half way down. It just showed up out of nowhere. I will be taking him in to get it checked out this Saturday. The cyst doesn't hurt him but I can tell it is sensitive to the touch (only sometimes). It's about the size of the tip of my pinky finger. In the meantime, can anyone shed some light on the possibilities? I searched the archives and only came up with interdigital cysts.

I have a friend with a bully
who sometimes gets these too. It's something like a fatty deposit and they will either just let it disappear on its own or the vet will remove it. She always has her vet look at though to make sure it's not something else because her bully is now 8 and you never know. If it is the fatty deposit, they're pretty harmless.
Hopefully some of the experts will chime in with more details.

This is what Newman had removed from his leg...
a few months ago. It turned out to be just a cyst, but the vet took it off anyway just to be safe. The vet can either aspirate it and send it to pathology or he can remove it completely.
