Hi everyone! Thanks to everyone who gave well wishes to Nola when she had her eye surgery a few weeks ago. She is doing well and I have posted a before and after photo below.
Unfourtunately, now it seems like she has interdigital cysts, we go to the vet tomorrow for confirmation. I have two questions, are they typically caused by the food, or something else? And if that is what it is, is anyone interested in 15+ lbs of the Natural Balance Sweet Potatoe and Bison formual? We JUST switched her over to that food because, coincidentally, she was licking her feet alot (no cysts or sores though), her ears wear consistantly funky/infected and her breath was horrible. I assumed all that was from allergies, so we switched her food. She has also learned to swim recently and has been in the pool almost constantly, so I've been wondering if that might have something to do with it.
Poor thing, seems like she's been subject to all the little bulldog health issues (knock on wood).
Thanks guys! Here is the before and after of here eye! I didn't realize that I don't have a good clear photo of her since the surgery, I'll have to get on that.
I thought you migh also like this one.
If she's the Queen of Mardi Gras, what does that make me...?
IDC's are pretty common...
we just put Preparation H on them three times a day for a couple of days and they dry up. They may or may not be from food, our guys have always been on grain free and every once in a while they get one.
Thanks
She had one 2 weeks ago, and now she has 3 or 4 that just popped up all at once. And they get huge and bleed really fast, I'm not entirely sre they are cysts. I guess the vet will let me know tomorrow.

firstly, she looks like a doll!
I love her pink raft! :) And her eyes look great!
In Winston's case he gets the IDCs at a pretty regular interval. Sometimes I know it's allergy related (in the spring primarily) but other times I can't figure out what caused/prompted it. My vet prescribed a cream for us to use if it reaches the point of "rupture" but otherwise we just soak his toes in a bath with some epsom salt, dry them REALLY well and try to "fight the good fight" that way. He's also on the generic of claritin to help try to keep his allergies in check (so far it's worked pretty well). Winston really loves to swim too, and I noticed if I'm not super diligent about drying his feet (and wrinkles) when he gets out he's more apt to have the IDCs and raw wrinkles. When I know it's allergy season I also wipe his paws down pretty regularly using baby wipes to try to minimize the irritants.
Good luck!
Shannon and Winston :)
My swimming bully buddy!
Moisture
can cause cysts and if she isn't getting dried real well after the pool time it could be a cause. Also not sure if you use chemicals that could also be a problem. I'm sure you are right there and keeping a close watch with her in the pool.
We do actually, a few
We do actually, a few weekends ago, she jumped in before anyone else was in the pool, I panicked and jumped in fully clothed. She was perfectly fine though... silly mom.... Anyways, the vet says that the pool probably isn't helping; she also has a bit of eczema from the pool water, so now we will be hosing her off after she is doen swiming and drying her really well. The vet put her on prednizone, does anyone have experience with their bullies on this? She is acting like a completely different dog.
