Cornea Ulcers?

What is your best approach at dealing with something like this. I'm about to take her to the vet when I have off tomorrow, cause I think that is what's going on with her. It's in her eye where she had cherry eye removal almost a year ago. They did a great job, but the white part around the eye didn't look right after she popped the cherry eye or after etc. I think she may have had an allergic reaction and it got some sort of trauma from her pawing at it possibly. I didn't really think anything of it, until today..  I've been putting some artifical tears in that eye? Is that a bad or good idea? Thanks for input.

The eye looks hazy and maybe

The eye looks hazy and maybe inside looks a bit irritated. I also gave her benadryl.

if its a ulcer dont

put anything in the eye.... dont fool around with a possible ulcer....many over the counter eye meds will make a ulcer even worse.....since you had a cherry eye...the tear production may be down have your vet check this.....when it comes to eye problems do not self medicate or fool around with it......when in any doubt see a vet....becasue you can turn a 100 dollar problem into thousands believe me!!!! if you need to do some thing just cold pack it till you see a vet

Just got back from vet.. on

Just got back from vet.. on two ointments. one antibiotic and one pain reliever... She got a nice little scratch in the eye. These bulldogs always something boy I get too stressed sometimes. Just going to see how she acts after a few days with the ointment hopefully within 2-3 weeks she's all better.

let me tell you about charlie.....

charlie poked a stick in his eye......what a mess but what made it worse some sb dogs have soft cornea issues....it took  5 months to heal and he has a contact lense in place to protect the eye....so dont be discouraged..it takes months some times....the thing is did you see a eye dr...becasue alot of scratches on the eye are from hair on the upper eye lid...and alot of good reg vets dont catch this right away...and you have to look really close.... just a thought.....

Hairs and Dry Eye

are the 2 things you want to really watch if the ulcer wasn't caused by a stick or something that poked the eye.  Eyes can take a long time to heal. for some reason bullies like to do what I call "pig rooting" and it never fails that they get a twig or branch or something poked in their eye. Both Norbert, Cleo and MacKenzie have all had eye ulcers. Norbert and kenz from something poking their eye and Cleo had entropian that caused an ulcer. They will heal and depending on the severity of the ulcer it will take time.

Did the vet stain the eye (green stain/dark room/shine light) so you could see the ulcer. They should recheck the eye after a couple of weeks to see how the ulcer is healing.

MacKenzie's eye ulcer was the most recent one for me and it took a good month for him to be completely back to normal. He was rechecked weekly with the staining for 2 weeks after the initial check. I continued the eye ointment for an additional 2 weeks after the vet suggested time.

Good Luck!

Yup stained and I saw it. He

Yup stained and I saw it. He thinks it was from her nail by accident when she had the itches about a week ago from some mosquito bite I think. And I go back in two weeks for a check up. She seems to be acting like her crazy self running around with balls in her mouth. I'm just glad I got some ointments for her and hopefully it will heal well.
