what can i use for completely cracked paws. Oscars front paws are cracked & when I brought him to the vet, he wasn't too concerned, but it bothers me. they aren't bleeding & they don't seem to bother Oscar, but they are super dry & cracked. I see Rottigirl suggested bag balm on the below post, but is this good if they are already cracked. I was thinking of putting neosporin on them with a pair of socks... If bag balm is good, where should i get it from?
thanks

I just love bag balm
Fill the cracks with it and rub pads all over. I do it at night and have him sleep with socks on. If you keep it up, you will see amazing results. I also love it for dry nose. It is a miracle too, for your own dry skin. I am in Canada and get it at Global Pet Foods. Some pharmacies have it too.
Love it here too!! We get dry in the winter in WA state and I
use it as well as use it on the dogs. It's awesome!!
Miss Rotten, er, Rotti, is correct.
Use Bag Balm, it is very good for dry, cracked stuff!

HEY!!!
No abusing the peanut gallery!! lol
Olivia
Hey, at least I said you were RIGHT!
How often does THAT happen in a day?! LOL
Peanut Gallery indeed. Oh, hey, when are you moving to Texas to be my horse handler/nurse/foal care taker/dog washer/chief cook/etc? I need HELP! my newest girl is a little silly and likes to relive her race track days (which were very recent). She zooms all over hither and yon, and I KNOW she is gonna need a good nurse soon if she keeps it up! You DID aply for the job, didn't you?!

Where do I sign up?
All I need is an Uncle Guido consult for the soon-to-be-but-not-soon-enough ex!
Olivia
Come on! I have a room ready for you:-)
You do't mind the TACK ROOM, do you?! LOL:-) No, I would put you up in the house:-)
Uncle Guido is busy, but he said he'd send God on over to the ex's estate and let Him deal with the dude:-) I'd take THAT offer if I was you! Uncle Guido can put a hurting on that boy, but not like the one God can!
So come on down, we are waiting...I'd say "with bells on" but that would spook the horses:-)

Sorry, that was supposed to go under Rotti's post.

you can also use
the Snout Soother that is used for dry noses. It works very well and absorbs quickly. I raved about how well it worked on M.'s nose. They've got a website. Awesome stuff and no petrolatum/mineral products in it...
Poor Oscar...
Sorry to hear about the poor boy's tootsies. You can get Bag Balm at Walgreens. I heard that if it's really bad you apply it and then put some baby booties on the paws overnight to moisturize. Hope it heals quickly!
