Chew ropes???

Hello again! So Im wondering if anyone has had problems with their bully chewing ropes and shreds of the rope affecting their tummies?! Boss Man is such a hard chewer that we can really only give him the extra heavy duty kong toy and this one kind of rope.... He tears the rope up in a matter of days and I just want to make sure its not doing more harm than good?!?! PS- for those who commented on our skin problem a month or so ago, THANK YOU!! We've been on Cyclosporine for a few weeks now and all is good (right now!). Thanks all!!!

A matter of time till he gets in trouble with the rope.

I haven't had it happen to me, but he could choke on it or swallow some of it, or it could get stuck in his teeth.

I think I cut them off and throw them away, or supervise while he's playing with it.

If it's for his teeth, I'm sure someone will make a suggestion on chew stuff.

Coming out the wrong end! I know they can get wrapped up in the intestines, so I quit letting her have them altogether. I give her Nylabones, kongs, anything but ropes now.

The rope toys aren't completely safe...

some pieces of the rope can be swallowed and they can cause an obstructon. I would stick with the kong and maybe deer antlers or nylabones for Powerful chewers, not the edible kind.

I have a chewer also..

My Porkchop is on phenobarbital for seizures and he is a chewing machine. I give him deer antlers and buffalo shin bones to chew on. They last a long time and are hard to destroy. They also have yummy marrow on the inside which keeps his interest.

Both of my bullies are chewers and was wondering where to get deer antlers and I am having difficulty finding raw bones? My grocery store said they don't even get meat with bones?
