cherry eye removal long term care

Hey everybody,

So amos just had his cherry eye removed after having the tacking proceeder twice and it allready looks a million times better. We will be visiting the vet in a week for a checkup but I was curious what his long term care might be from this piont on. I know my vet will talk to me in detail about this when we return but  I wanted to get a personal account from other bulldog owners. will he now have to be on preventitive eye drops for life?

Thanks

Possible Dry Eye

but I honestly think that does not happen very often.  They tend to get dry when they get old anyway.  The snipping is a far better choice IMO then tacking.

care...

could be to instill artificial tears or ointment, especially on windy days.  Keep antibiotic eye ointment on hand.  There's a chance of dry eye, but Bulldogs are predisposed, so there's a chance without cherry eye removal, too.  Good luck!
