Well, my vet confirmed it. Mr. Higgins` has popped a cherry eye previously tacked at 13 weeks. 7 years later? What? My vet says it is extremely unusual. It did not seem like a cherry eye to me because it is not red, just flesh coloured, however it looks exactly like a cherry eye. I can massage it back in. He is already on eye ointment for entropion so that is one good thing. The cherry eye only pops out occasionally. It is in more than out.
Being 7 years old, turning 8 in the summer, and having 7 surgeries already, I am not wanting another surgery. I know they could remove the cherry eye and do the entropion all at once, but right now we are trying to medically treat closed ear canals. I think the eyes are the least of his problems right now. He has had pain because of the ears and has been on Rimadyl and Tramadol and now we have weaned him off the Rimadyl. The Tramadol is really helping him. He is on Cyclosporin once a day and will continue on this. The ears are a week to week thing and he is not at end stage yet. I do not want the ablation surgery for him. They are not completely closed and hopefully the cyclosporin will stop it from progressing any further.

Allergies
can cause a slight cherry eye, rubbing can pop a small cherry eye, these can normally be massaged back in. MacKenzie has this happen sometimes. Ask your vet about perscribing polybac B eye ointment (no steriods) just to make sure there isn't any infection or allergy issues. I always keep this eye ointment on hand.
ay...mr.h...you are beautiful

He is just about the sweetest bully in the whole world. (sorry everyone) Especially after 7 surgeries and many issues. I am so happy he is out of pain now that he is on Tramadol. He had been profusely drooling/licking.
