I know this question must have been asked before, but I can't find it.
So, my husband and I PCS'd from Korea, and my mother in law watched Tank for about 6 weeks. Tanks is very much an inside dog, and other than minor allergies, hasn't presented with many health issues. I picked him up yesterday (YAY!) and apparently, my mother in law has been keeping him outside. This means he wasn't getting baths, face wasn't getting washed, or his ears cleaned. I saw him with cherry eye for the first time yesterday. We took him to the vet and got eye drops for him, and the swelling went down. But this morning it popped out and started swelling again. Is it safe to try to push the tear duct back in?
And on a short note, when he was kept outside, his tear stains got VERY bad. Is there a safe way to try and lift some of the staining?
Wouldn't know that he just got a brandnew $60 bed! My forever puppy Tank.
Sorry, one of the sentences
Sorry, one of the sentences didn't post. My main question was: What can I do to prevent it from popping out all the time?

I think cherry eye is pretty
I think cherry eye is pretty common among bullies. My 3 year old Zoey had cherry eye surgery within her first year, and my 1 year old Tucker will be having double cherry eye surgery next month. With Tucker, one of his popped out and we scheduled surgery then. However, our vet opthalmalogist suggested we wait and see if the other one popped out as well, and sure enough, the other one popped out in the next month or two. His did what yours is doin: coming and going on their own. But once we gave it some time, both of the glands stayed out permanently. I think trying to pop the gland back into place is only a temporary solution, eventually surgery will be needed to correct it for a more permanent fix (although I've been told it can pop back out after surgery too).
