We went to the vets the other day, and it turns out that our bulldogs folds on his eye is how you say rounded so the eye lashes are rubbing on his eye ball and causing tearing, itchyness, and causing him to scrach his eye alot. And that he would need surgery to fix the fold.
So my question is this, One I forgot what he said it was called, Two I wanted to know if any of you guys have had this problem, and what did you do about it, And last how much does it cost ???
Thanks alot =]
It's called entropian and...
needs to be fixed, otherwise your guy could lose his sight as ulcers can develop. The cost depends a lot on where you live. Make sure you have a vet that sees a lot of bulldogs or knows about all their quirks. Our first bulldog had this done and he healed nicely and never had any further problems with his eyes.
Buford just had this done on both eyes. Stitches came out
today and he is doing great. He is not itching, squinting or having any wet tearing down his face. Wish I would have done this sooner. Good luck with your baby. Buford only took 10 days to heal.
I just had this with Sophia. It is called....
Entropic lids, or Entropian lids. The surgery is minimally invasive, takes about 14 days to be totally healed up, and it cost me approximately 500.00. Where are you located?

Thanks so much everyone =] I
Thanks so much everyone =] I live in hamilton ontario canada, i will get this done for sure
Make sure your vet has done this before many times.
I had a vet I wasn't well familiar with do Sophies, and her eye lids were pulled down too far. I will have to go to a different vet to have them fixed. It would have done well for me to really research the vet I used and get local recomendations. I used a vet who used to breed Bulldogs and has lots of experience with putting under for surgery, but didn't know he was a hack with the actual surgery!! Live and learn.
