Booty scootin question

Fatboy has been doing the booty scootin thing on our carpets for weeks now and we can't figure out why. His anal glands don't need to be expressed, his tail pocket is clean, and he doesn't have worms. When I took him to the vet, the dr. said that dogs can be irritated by the littlest things just like humans. Whatever this little issue is I'd like to get rid for him because it's what I would want to do for myself.

Any ideas on what's going on?

Sometimes Gizmo just seems to enjoy a good booty scoot - like she has an itch that she herself can't reach - She also LOVES our Concrete Patio - she'll roll on her back with her feet in the air for a few minutes - trying to 'get that spot...oh..yea...that's the one' :) She's doing it now as I type this.. Silly Girl.

If you hear of any other possibilties, let us know, but as it is right now, I'm not overly concerned.

Can't help you with the scooting. Sounds like you have eliminated everything that I would have thought to be the cause. Sorry

i dont have rugs in my house....for alot of reasons...my mother has 20 inch thick carpet and wilson goes to her house he scoots all over the house...and everyone screams with laughter...he just does it......you need to let fatboy have some fun.....

What about trying those creams for humans - the anti-itch like hemorroid cream on his anus? Dunno.....(sorry for being crass)....maybe he has an itchy butt-hole ;)
