Bobby had surgery on Saturday and is coming along fine.

He had a Urethral Obstruction. That's Abigail Anne McGee on the left and Bobby Bruce McGee on the right. Poor Bobby just went thru surgery on Saturday to correct a Urethral Obstruction.

Thank you for your message. Yes, Bobby is doing well: peeing, pooping and eating. He will be coming home on Saturday morning....Yay!!!!

Gail and I visited our Bobby at the Java Veterinary Center in Massena, New York where he underwent the surgery. He was operated on Saturday and we saw him Monday; he was really happy to see us. Some blood dripping but that's to be expected. He ate a good breakfast yesterday morning and had been out to pee several times and everything is working very well. He had not pooped but the Doctor expected that. The Doctor himself checks on him every couple of hours since he lives only 10 minutes from the Java Center. I have to admit that I was overwhelmed!! I was left alone with Bobby to pet him and tell him how much his Daddy loves him and I started crying like a baby. Doctor Perez came in the room and told me everything was okay and cheered me up. He knows my wife and I are serious animal lovers and we sure love our Bullies and our Shih-Tzus. We opted to leave Bobby in the Doctor's care until next Saturday for the extra $120 we felt that it was best not to take any chances by bringing him home too soon. We brought the good Doctor and his wife a bottle of Red and a bottle of White wine,

I totally understand how you can be a wreck, and your dog just looks at you like "what's wrong?" :) I'm glad you've got such a compassionate and capable doctor taking care of your sweet boy. Winston and I are sending positive thoughts that everything heals nicely and Bobby McGee is ready to come home on Saturday!

Hi there Shannon, Gary is outside mowing the lawn, so I'm checking emails. :) I look at Winston and can't help but see the resemblance to our Bobby McGee; it's incredible!!!! What part of the world do you live and what breeder sold you Winston; they could be brothers!!

Hi Gail!

Winston's blushing at the compliment and comparison! I think you've got yourself a couple of good looking bully beauties as well! J To answer your questions, I live in Kansas and Winston was actually a rescue I was lucky enough to adopt through BCARN. He had a similar problem to your Bobby, well similar in that he had problems with his man parts.

Apparently he had a prolapsed urethra and instead of paying to fix it his previous owners told the vet to put him down. Instead the vet convinced them to surrender him to her and contacted BCARN about my sweet boy. So thank God for her! J He came to me about 10 days post op, and besides a few days of post op issues (normal stuff) he hasn't had any additional problems!

Where about are you and your lovely family located? If we’re relatively close it could be possible that Winston and Bobby might be related. J

You’ll have to keep us posted on how your boy is doing!!
