Bloody stool
Submitted by beefymalone on July 9, 2010 - 1:12pmHi! HELP!!! My 1.5 year old bulldog has the runs. We gave him some rice and that seemed to harden everything up, but then at the end of his business, he had the runs, with some blood in it. Any suggestions of what that could be?

Oh my goodness! Blood in the stool is never good -- I'd have him checked out by a vet ASAP if i were you.

answer this....
is he vomiting? is he lethageric? if he is appears to be ok other than the bloody stool....first it COULD and i say it could be a garbage gut in other words a bad stomsch ache....
fast for 24 hrs....water only NO FOOD!!!!!!!! then go to Brown rice and boiled hamburger..... for five days and dont cheat wit any food....
if he wont drink water or vomits water...off to the vet.... if he appears in pain...if his gums are white or blue....call the vet....
bloody diarhea
My shar-pei get this so,etimes, wehn they get into something that they shoultn't have. i give them metronidaole. If the blood is bright red, it's probably from the diarhea. If the blood is dark, look like tar, get to the vet, otherwise, do at the above post said. withhold food for 24 hours, etc....
