blood in diarrhea
Submitted by higgins on August 30, 2010 - 12:34pmso higgins has been on bland diet for two days and metrondizole and his poops are still runny mucusy and have red blood in it. The vet said they can not test the stool until its more solid. How do I get it more solid if this is not working. Higgins is also very old....
Have you tried pumpkin
or sweet potato?
what are you doing for a balnd diet
what are you giving i might have a few suggestions....and thats bs your vet cant test that stool...have them send it out then to a lab.. ..two days is a bit long for an old dog....
Judy is right I brought a sample that was almost pure liquid
(sorry to be gross) and they still tested it!
P.S. I got the answer within 2 hours.

Give Higgins another 2 days
Give Higgins another 2 days for the meds to start working. Your vet should still be able to do fecal exam. I never heard of this. How old is your boy?
