Benadryl question

Our vet prescribed 25 mg of benadryl for tuffy if he ever starts gnawing at his paws again due to alleries/cysts. I'd like to have some on hand for the future...

Just plain old benedryl, the pink tablets...
25 mg each. Don't get anything that says it has a decongestant in it, antihistamines are okay but decongestants are not.
