Hi,
My English bulldog, Penny, just was diagnosed with a hemdaoctoma base heart tumor at the age of 6. We weren't given many options, however, were told about Cyber Razor radiation to shrink it. Very little information exists on this and was hoping to get some feedback from the forum reader's experiences. We would appreciate some advice and thoughts on the following:
1) Cyber Razor radiation for a base heart tumor.
2) Any nutritional ideas that would be considered anti-inflammatory that might help?
3) Any prognosis that folks have had that they can share?
4) Any other info or thoughts?
We were told to basically look at chemo, radiation, the doctor was skeptical about surgery due to the location and intricacy. We were also told to basically prepare to make her comfortable and that she probably has about 2-4 months left.
This morning she woke up with labored breathing and is coughing a lot.
Your thoughts are appreciated.
I am so sorry
I don't know anything about this, but it makes me so sad to read it. I am sorry you got such news.

I haven't had experience with this, but please know you're in my thoughts. Every day with our babies is such a precious gift. Loving them and having them in our lives is OUR privilege as they do nothing but love us unconditionally from day one. Please keep us posted and I'll be thinking of you and your baby...
I have no experience with this type of tumor.
I am just so sorry you and your baby have to go through this....so very sorry. My prayers are with you.

As for a natural anti-inflammatory
Fish oil capsules contain GAG's (I forget the really long chemical name that this stands for) that act as a natural anti-inflammatory. I have Kano on this to help stave off lupus episodes.
I am very very sorry about your girl's diagnosis. I'll be praying for comfort for her.

Thank you
Hi,
Thank you for your replies. This was faster than we expected and Penny passed away Monday morning from respiratory failure that was a complication of the tumor leaking into her lungs and compressing her trachea. It was a very large tumor. We pursued options and answers aggressively, but weren't able to do anything that would save her.
We learned about a lot of good people and vets that I hope to share with everyone in the next few days.

I'm so very sorry for your loss...I think most of us here have gone through the loss of a beloved pet at some point in time (my first loss was August of last year), so we know how painful it is to lose your baby. Please let us know if we can help you in any way, the people here are wonderfully compassionate...
