Hi there
I have a nine month old bulldog called George who is totally adorable, he has had for the last 2 months small bald patches on his fur they first appeared and shortly after he seemed to loose a lot of his puppy fur so we thought it was down to that and the fact that it was a warm summer, but it now seems to be getting worse! I have taken him to 2 different vets and he has had skin tests sent of to the lab which have come back showing nothing, he isn't itching them and they don't seem to be bothering him, but look unsightly. Please can anyone who has had this similar problem let me know what they did and if there are any creams or bathing lotions that i can use to clear the problem up, thanks, Emma x
Are you sure that it isn't demodex?
Kofi had demodex mange. It is fairly common, and should be diagnosed by scraping and looking at right while you are there. If you do a search, you will find some wonderful advice concerning demodex. Is there a bulldog vet in your area? It is certainly worth it to find one if you can.
Hugs to George, and I hope he gets better soon.
Q went thru something like this
It turned out to be an allergy he was having to food. Once I got him on the right stuff, it resolved. This is what it looked like:
While I was trying to figure out what was the cause, I rinsed the spots twice a day with the original brown listerine (on a cotton ball). He smelled minty fresh for a while! lol That seemed to help the spots from getting any bigger, and a few of them actually started to shrink and regrow hair.
