Aspirin dosage

Has anyone given their bully Aspirin? Just wondering what dosage and how safe is it?

My vet said today can give 325mg a half tablet 3 x daily for a week (so 162mg x 3)

after doing research, I read some sites saying 5-10mg per every lb at twice daily.... some say don't give human aspirin, or make sure buffered aspirin, or childrens aspirin.... and I know only take for 7 days as can be side effects over long term....

anyone have experience using Aspirin?

Aspirin dosage

Would be determined by weight and individual situation. You should follow your vet's advice. I have given one 325 mg. tablet twice daily to Bulldog over 55 lbs. in the past for injury. If it's likely to be for only a few days, there would not be much concern about stomach upset -- the baby aspirin dosage is too low (81 mg.) -- you'd have to give several. Bufferin or Ascriptin are coated and supposed to be easier on the stomach. I have been giving a single aspirin every other day to my 13 yr. old senior for arthritis, and she's ok with that--every situation and Bully is different.

Yes but make sure...

that it is coated.  Ascriptin is a good one to use.
