Anyone's bulldog have epilepsy??

Hi everyone, Gemma is 1.5 years old. About 8 months ago she had her first seizure..at least the first one that I saw and realized what it was. The vet determined that she has epilepsy and put her on 100 mg of Phenobarbitone. From what I have read the dosage amounts he gave have been correct. First month it was 1 pill everyday, then (as long as no more seizures)  the dosages were decreased. A couple of times on the lowest dosage she did have another seizure, when this happened he increased the amount and we started backing down every month again. She has been on the same dosage for 2 full months (she takes a pill for 2 days then takes one day off then 2 days and so on) This AM she had a another seizure, it was mild but it still happened. I'm supposed to be going back to the vet this week for him to test her blood to make sure all is still normal.

I just I just wanted some opinions on the treatment plan. I was hoping she would grow out of this but I think she will have it her whole life. Also, what Is the price of the meds in the USA? I'll be moving back to Ohio in Novemeber, I wasn't sure if they were cheaper for me to stock up here before we leave. I'd like to hear everyones stories with epilepsy, bad and good

Thanks,

Lisa

Update...

Well another seizure this evening. I didn't see it happen but my husband went downstairs and Gemma was covered in drool and also had an accident. I hope this doesn't mean the epilepsy is getting worse, not good for a girl that has to take a 15 hour flight in 3 weeks! :(
