Another DE Question

Bear is doing great on raw diet. I am now feeding chicken necks in the a.m. and boneless chicken breast in the p.m. and his stools have been firm again.
For those using diatomaceous earth on their bullies, do you still give a heartworm or does this replace heartworm? I am giving him 1 teaspoon daily to start with. I am also taking 1 tsp daily and I loved the renewed energy I have!!
I am a little nervous not giving Bear his heartworm and want to know if DE replaces it. Thanks!
no, de does not kill heartworm microfilariae
it only kills intestinal parasites. But it does signifigantly improve their overall health and immunity by eliminating the parasites, making them more able to get rid of the heartworm on their own.
I live in the Southeast, so I do give Audrey something called Heartworm Free. It was originally sold as a treatment for a heartworm positive dog, but was later tested for 4 years for use as a preventative and proven to be effective.
