Another Bones question

Do you just give them the bones like this?

Thats raw from the meat market with the marrow in the middle.

Chumlee got his first bully stick this weekend.  He can only have it for a little while then I have to take it away because he slimes it all and starts to swallow it.

Cute photo!

Yes, you give it to them raw. I've heard that it's a good idea to scoop out some of the marrow because it's very rich and can upset their tummies.

Tuffy loves those bully sticks too but it gives him a beet red muzzle!!

That bully stick

looks like a braided hollow one.  Be careful with those.  When we give them they are the solid hard as a rock kind but it's good idea to take it away once in awhile and let it harden up again.

I will check when I get home

I don't believe it is hollow.  He hasn't crunched it and he goes to town on it.  He can only have it for about 20 minutes or so because he manages to slime the entire 12 inch stick.  They sure smell nasty though!  Chumlee has been "being a puppy" and eating all things related to landscaping and/or nature so I got some good things for him to focus his energy on.  So far so good...

I have given those beef shin bones to

Kofi. She now has lost interest in them. I always threw them away after a couple of days because they get harder, and she could break a tooth. Some people here say that their dogs love them, and Kofi used to, but she's tired of them now and just gets the raw bones with lots of meat on them.

Where can you buy those Bully Sticks?  What are they made out of?

We got that one at Chuck and Don's

Just be very careful and learn about them and read reviews before buying them.  I googled 'bully stick" then clicked on the websites that came up and learned about them and read the testimonials and options and pros and cons.  You don't really want to know what they are made of, you won't look at them the same again.  ; )
